Kittiwake

Location

‘Kittiwake’ Portreath, Cornwall

Portreath is a small seaside village set in hilly countryside on the North Cornish coast.  It has an excellent sandy beach with safe bathing, but also great surfing for the more adventurous, as well as rock pools at low tide and a traditional harbour.  ‘Kittiwake’ is just a short walk of 300 metres from the beach.

How to get here:

By road – Portreath is 10 mins off the A30
By rail –the nearest mainline station is Redruth, accessed from Paddington, London. 5 miles from the village
By air – the nearest airport is Newquay – 20 miles away

There is a regular bus service in the village

Redruth – 5 miles
Truro – 15 miles
St Ives – 16 miles
Penzance – 18 miles


Local Area

The village has sufficient shops to suit average daily needs including an excellent bakers selling their award winning Cornish Pasties, There is a large Tesco’s store nearby, Morrisons and Aldi a little further away.

There are several eating-places, Inns, Restaurants and Cafes in the village.

Portreath is ideally situated to appreciate all of the attractions of the rugged North Cornish coast, whether that is the many sandy beaches, surfing or walking the North Cornwall Coastal Path.  For the less active there are many tourist attractions to suit all interests, National Trust properties, the beautiful town of St Ives with many art galleries and restaurants. For rainy days there are many places to visit to keep the children happy from Flambards Theme Park to Gweek Seal Sanctaury  or Newquay Zoo to name just a few. This is a perfect spot for a family holiday.

Facilities

Kittiwake is a three bedroomed terraced house which has been owned by the family since 1974.

It has a small garden with paved area to the rear, a garage and hard standing for a second car, to the front there is a walled front garden, laid to grass, leading to a footpath.

It sleeps up to 7 with folding bed for a further 2 people.

Sorry no pets.  No smoking

Accommodation: downstairs is open plan comprising – kitchen, dining room, lounge. Downstairs toilet.  Stairs leading to three bedrooms, bathroom/toilet.

Bedroom 1 – Double bed and hand basin.
Bedroom 2 – Family room – 3 single beds
Bedroom 3 – 2 Single beds.
Bathroom – Toilet, hand basin bath, shower over.

Kitchen – equipped for up to 10 people. Microwave, Electric Cooker, Dishwasher, Fridge Freezer, Automatic Washing Machine, Tumble Dryer, Ironing Board and Iron.

Lounge – two sofas, a bed settee, one armchair, TV and DVD player. WiFi is available

Dining Room – Table, 8 chairs, folding chairs and a high chair.

Duvets & linen are provided for all beds.  Towels, tea towels, not supplied.

Costs

Prices range from £350 – £850 per week. £100 deposit required at time of booking

Discounts

10% discount for clergy in school holidays or high season
20% discount for clergy or for two person occupancy at other times of year

Availability

All year round.

Arrival and Departure times: Accommodation is available from 3pm on the day of arrival until 10.30 on the day of departure.

Booking Arrangements: Saturday to Saturday lets only in school holidays or high season, other options considered at other times, but no weekend breaks.

Pets: No pets.
