L’Oasis

L'Oasis

Location

L’Oasis, Mauron, Central Brittany

How to get here: Approx. 1 ¼ hours drive south from St Malo.

Nearest Town: Mauron, approximately 3 minutes drive away.

Local Area

L’Oasis is situated in a little hamlet of farm houses just 3 minutes drive from the quaint market town of Mauron. Dominated by its distinctively domed church, Mauron offers a range of local Tabacs, restaurants, boulangeries, and a good sized Super U. It is also the start of the Voie Verte, an excellent cycle way along a disused railway track where you can cycle to Ploermel, Malestroit, Josselyn and beyond.

Mauron has an open-air swimming pool and just 25 minutes drive away at Ploermel is Lac au Duc, an excellent lake boasting water sports, safe bathing from a sandy beach, walks and much more. Nearer to home is the forested area of Tréhonenteuc which offers stunning views of the area as well as its famous ‘l’arbre d’or’. The coast can be reached within an hour to the west or just over an hour to the north. There are many signposted cycle routes around Mauron which will take you through quaint, unspoilt Breton villages.

Facilities

L’Oasis is a simple Breton farmhouse with masses of exposed beams. It can sleep up to 7 adults in three bedrooms (two doubles on the ground floor and a loft bedroom with 3 single beds). It has a spacious kitchen/lounge area and a separate dining room. The kitchen is fully equipped including microwave and slow cooker and there is a washing machine available too. There is ample off road parking and a good range of garden furniture. The front garden faces south east, whilst the back garden, overlooking farmland, enjoys the evening sun. There is a variety of adult and child bicycles which are available for use.

Costs

The weekly flat rate is £325 and two weeks costs £600. We do not have a local concierge so all guests are required to ensure that the property is clean and tidy at the end of their stay.

The rates are non-commercial and we aim to cover our costs and no more.

Energy Provision: Electricity and water usage is included in the cost. Butane gas for the cooker is also included and should guests need to replenish the gas cylinder they will be reimbursed.

Availability

L’Oasis is available from Easter to October. Other dates may be available by special arrangement.

Arrival and Departure times: In peak season, changeover day is a Tuesday (to minimise ferry costs). Other days may be possible by special arrangement.
