Facilities

The cottage is located in a peaceful location, with outside space, and will be a superb hideaway. It is surrounded by open fields with local footpaths and the beautiful unspoilt South Devon coastline very nearby. It overlooks an area designated as an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ (AONB). In the past the cottage has been owned by the National Trust. It is located near to the private Fleet Estate dating from Saxon times.
A few miles away is Bigbury-On-Sea with Burgh Island which has the famous Art Deco hotel and a Sea Tractor to take guests to the island through the sea. At low tides it is possible to walk to the island across a causeway but watch the tides for your return!
The whole property has been recently refurbished to an immaculate modern standard yet in a period building. The space has been created for those looking for ideal relaxation and incorporates contemporary essentials including internet, smart television, a luxury oak kitchen with granite worktops, an induction electric hob for safety, oven, grill, toaster, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, all necessary cooking accessories if you want to cook and a washing machine.
The cottage has been sympathetically converted. The period stone features internally and natural stone construction make it blend seamlessly with the modern day. There is a wood burning stove to ensure cosy evenings with games, books and puzzles provided, or for relaxation watching television or a Netflix film. Full electric radiator heating is provided in all rooms with a hot water tank for use at the basin and kitchen sink.
The cottage has its living space upstairs, hence the upper vaulted ceilings. This area is full of natural light with the east facing window for the morning sunshine and south facing picture windows give it additional natural warmth as well as the views overlooking the fields with sheep safely grazing.
There are two bedrooms on the ground floor with windows overlooking the AONB behind facing south. The main bedroom has a luxury king size bed and the second bedroom has two single beds. Holiday storage is provided in both bedrooms.
The bathroom has a corner shower with an immediate welcoming electric shower with full complimentary ceramic tiling. There is a large basin and toilet with an electric towel rail for warming towels.
The private garden is equipped with seating and table for outside entertaining.  There is private off street parking for one car.
The property has two flights of stairs which may not suit those with limited mobility.
Bedding is provided but please bring your own towels, beach towels and tea towels.
All electricity is provided and logs for the wood burning stove.
