How to get there:

Access is easiest by car on the A55 and then onto the A5, 6 minutes from Britannia Bridge. There are also bus routes that come through the village. The bus stop is a 5 minute walk from the house. Anglesey is also accessible from the ferry from Dublin into Holyhead. Flights going to Anglesey Airport from Cardiff Airport.

Nearest Town:

The nearest town is Llangefni, which is a 7 minute drive away. Then Holyhead which is about 15 minute drive, and a 10 minute drive to the city of Bangor, on the mainland.


Local Area

Gaerwen and has two local shops, open long hours. There is also a Chip shop,  Chinese takeaway, Swing Park, large ironmongery store, a petrol station with competitive prices, a Garden Centre including restaurants,  and a local pub that serves food.

Beaches – Benllech, Red Wharf Bay, Newborough, Trearddur Bay, Llanddwyn Island, the list goes on, as it is an island.

Holyhead with South Stack Lighthouse.

Beaumaris Castle and its quaint town.

Bryn Cellu Du – A burial chamber.

Trac Mon, for car racing.

Snowdonia, with all the mountains and rivers and lakes. Zip World, Bounce below, Gypsy Wood and Greenwood Centre, to name a few.

The house has many brochures with sight-seeing adventures, you won’t be bored!

There are plenty of supermarkets on the island, and onto the mainland too.

Tesco, Aldi, Lidl, Asda, Morrisons, Waitrose, Co-Op, Iceland, Farmfoods, Home Bargains, B. & M. and more!

There are restaurants in abundance, and many pubs serving fine food. Some to start!…

Facilities

Experience grandeur and history in this sprawling Victorian house, once the Old Rectory, nestled in quiet town of Gaerwen, Anglesey, and situated in a secluded natural parkland setting. This property exudes tranquility and charm, inviting you to unwind and reconnect with nature.

There is a drawing room, a lounge, and a loft sitting room for relaxation and entertainment. There are  TV’s in the lounge and all the bedrooms, board games and books available to use.

The kitchen is well-stocked, has a fridge, freezer, microwave/air fryer, dishwasher, double oven/ induction hob, kettle, toaster, cooking basics, dishes and cutlery, glasses, baking sheets and blender.

Barbecue utensils can be made available. There is a supply of cleaning products, kitchen roll, tea towels, and a supply of tea, coffee, and sugar. The dining area will seat 10.  We have 2 high chairs available, if required.

Downstairs there is a small cloakroom with shower, toilet and washbasin.

There are 5 bedrooms upstairs, one with a super king size bed, 3 doubles and a twin, sleeping 10 in total, all with ample wardrobe and drawer space.  Bedding and towels are supplied.  We have two cots we can offer.

Upstairs, there is a bathroom and shower room. We supply essentials like towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and toilet rolls.

The property is fitted with central heating, gas fires in the two main sitting rooms, smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, fire extinguishers and first aid box. There is Wi-Fi that covers the whole house and a dedicated workspace.

The French doors in the lounge open up to a garden space, ideal for al fresco dining with outdoor seating and tables, and leads on to a huge field, great for sunbathing, outdoor games, barbequing etc.

The field is available for other visitors on site to use. There is free parking on the premises for three vehicles.  Should you need more, please discuss with us. We provide a lockbox so guests can self check in.

The property also houses a flat, an independent annex to the house, sleeping 2

A caravan, sleeping 6;   A tree house for 2;   A log cabin, 2+2

We can accommodate a total of 24 people on site.

Costs

£350 per night to include cleaning, minimum 3 night booking

10% discount is offered to clergy and paid church staff.

Energy Provision:  Charges included in the above tariff.

Available all year round.

Arrival and Departure times:

Arrival – 4 pm

Vacate – 10 am

Pets: No pets are allowed
