How to get here:
By road it is just off the A470 in the middle of Snowdonia National Park.
By train to Blaenau Ffestiniog, the station is a 30 min walk from the cottage
Bus stop at end of our road (Cae Clyd)
Nearest Town(s): The cottage is on the edge of Blaenau Ffestiniog, and Porthmadog is a 20 min drive away.
Local Area
The town has a handy Co-op, and at least two other convenience stores. It also has a great fish and chip shop, tourist info centre, post office, train station, cafes, cinema and arts venue, local shops including butcher and gift shops.
A big Tesco, along with Aldi and Lidl located in nearby town Porthmadog. Betws y Coed, the popular tourist centre is 25 mins away. Petrol at Porthmadog and Betws y Coed.
Blaenau Ffestiniog is home to a multitude of tourist attractions, including the famous Ffestiniog steam railway, Llechwedd Slate Caverns tours, Antur Stiniog mountain biking trails, Zip World Slate Caverns (Like Go Ape but below ground), Zip World Titan (4 person zip lines), Zip World Bounce Below (trampolines underground). It also has wonderful walking and the ruins of the town’s mining history to discover. It is close to many mountains, including Snowdon 45mins drive away, and the area abounds with lakes and rivers. Stunning beaches just 25 mins drive from the cottage.
Facilities
The cottage is on a peaceful no-through road. It is a traditional stone cottage, with slate roof, inglenook fireplace with wood-burning stove, slate stone flagged flooring, exposed stonework and handcrafted features throughout. It sleeps 5 in 3 bedrooms: Bedroom 1 has a standard size double bed, Bedroom 2 has full size single bunk beds, Bedroom 3 has a full size single bed. Family Bathroom upstairs. Downstairs there is a comfortable lounge and well-equipped kitchen. Front patio with stunning views of the Moelwyn Mountain range, which you can also see from the back garden, which is raised up due to the cottage being nestled into mountain-side. Small decking area and lawn to rear, and there is outside furniture for front and back. Residents car park 150m from house. TV & DVD player, CD/DAB Radio Stereo, Broadband/WiFi, Dishwasher, Microwave, Washing Machine, large Fridge/Freezer, Towels and Bed Linen provided. Central and underfloor heating as well as wood-burning stove. Non-smoking and sorry, no pets. Info for parents: Highchair and travel cot available, and children’s play park at bottom of the road.

Costs
The Cottage is available to book all year round, with prices for a week ranging from around £290 in winter to around £700 at the height of summer. We offer week long bookings with Saturday or Sunday changeovers.
We also offer midweek getaways Monday – Friday, and also weekend breaks, Friday – Sunday (term time only).
