How to get there:
Car: By road A303 to A30, then turn into New Street and turn into King Street area. King street runs parallel with High Street.
Rail: The nearest rail station is Honiton on the Waterloo Line then ten minutes’ walk to the cottage. Walk up Church Hill which turns into New Street, then left into King Street.
National coaches: National Express goes to Exeter. Then either take local bus 44 or 9 bus from Exeter Bus Station (approx.an hour) or hail a taxi (a half hour journey).
Air: Exeter is the nearest airport – a taxi to Honiton is approx. a 15 min journey.
Bus: Local buses run to and from Sidmouth, Taunton, Seaton and Exmouth.
Nearest Town:
The house is close to the centre of Honiton. The city of Exeter is about 17 miles away.
Local Area
There is a Spar that is a 5 minute walk from the property. A Co-operative and an Iceland store are 10 minutes’ walk away. There are also Tesco, Lidl and Aldi stores a bit further out.
Honiton High Street has many independent cafes and restaurants, antique shops and a local museum.
Honiton is close to the Jurassic Coast and is on the edge of the Blackdown Hills which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The nearest beach is at Sidmouth which is about a 20 minute drive, or 40 minutes down the hill on the number 9 bus. This is a very scenic bus route with the sea in the background.
The South West Coast path (of ‘The Salt Path’ book fame), can be picked up at Sidmouth and stretches from Lyme Regis to Exmouth in East Devon, but in total runs all the way from Poole in the south, to Minehead in the North.
Seaton, a 25 min drive, has a quaint tram that travels through a wetland nature reserve.
Exeter with its magnificent cathedral provides a full day of historic and cultural interest.
Facilities
Oakman Cottage is an old cottage property with a lip to enter the front door.
There are two bedrooms upstairs, one with a double bed, one with a single bed.
The kitchen is small but new.
The living room has a sofa and an easy chair.
The small dining area has a gate-leg table which pulls out with four chairs.
There is an outdoor patio area with chairs.
There is a TV and Wifi provision.
The stairs are wooden and fairly steep.
The bathroom is upstairs and has a small bath and a new shower.
Bedding and towels are provided.
Children are welcome
NB: There is no parking on-site as access is via a pedestrian walkway. But there is on-street parking on King Street, or there is allocated off-street parking five minutes walk away near the dentist.

Costs
From £550 a week.
Energy Provision: All energy costs are included in tariff.
Availability
Long weekends during the year, Friday to Monday.
Week long during the year by arrangement, Friday for 7 days.
Arrival and Departure times:
2 pm on day of arrival and 10 am on day of departure. Other times can be agreed on request.
Booking arrangements: For long weekends – arrive on Friday and depart on Monday
No smoking, no parties.
Pets: One dog – £15
