Local Area
Sunshine Cottage is a 10 minute walk to the harbour and only seconds away from the nearest Fish and Chip shop. Fore Street and Middle Street contain a wealth of supermarkets and local delis. World class Fish restaurants with stunning views, and delightful cafes offering Devon Cream Teas (cream first), pave the way to the harbour where traditional pubs sit alongside stylish cocktail bars.
Brixham offers a host of charity shops for those who enjoy bargain hunting, as well as plenty of independent shops selling everything from fishing tackle to fashion, with plenty of opportunities for buying postcards and souvenirs.
Sunshine Cottage is also ideal for personal retreats. A Priest without Portfolio ‘Seashells: Listening to God Retreat in a Box’ can be ordered in for an additional £20.
Leisure Attractions – beaches, countryside, parks, etc
Perfect for those who love water, from paddling to paddleboarding, the harbour is home to resident seals and often visited by dolphins and occasionally sharks!

Crabbing is a favourite activity, a visit to the Golden Hinde a must – and look out for Captain Blackbeard!
Situated on the South West Coastal Path, an afternoon’s walk to Berry Head will reward you with fantastic views.
Fishing trips and tours of the fish market are available. Explore further by ferry, steam train, or local bus.
