The nearby market town of Market Drayton (2 miles) offers supermarkets, local shops, cafés, pubs, and a weekly market. The nearest large supermarkets include Morrisons and Aldi (both approx. 5 minutes by car).
The area is rich in rural charm — rolling farmland, woodlands, and towpaths are on your doorstep. Popular attractions include the Shropshire Hills AONB, Hawkstone Park Follies, and the Dorothy Clive Garden. The canal itself offers opportunities for boating, fishing, and wildlife watching.
Nearby towns such as Eccleshall and Stafford offer additional dining options, boutique shops, and historic sites. The local pub, a 5-minute walk from the cabin, serves food and drinks and is popular with walkers.
Facilities
The Monocoque Cabin sleeps 2 adults in one double bedroom (linen provided). It has one bathroom with a walk-in shower, flushing WC, and eco-friendly insulation for year-round comfort. The kitchen is well-equipped with an induction hob, fridge, microwave, utensils, and an air fryer.
There is a fold-down desk and fast Wi-Fi for remote working. Heating is provided by a cast-iron wood-burning stove and electric heaters. The cabin has a private garden with a fire pit, outdoor seating, and uninterrupted rural views.
On-site parking is included. The property is single-level but does have some steps at the entrance and is not wheelchair accessible. Children are welcome, but there are no specific child facilities. Dog-friendly — well-behaved dogs are welcome (garden not fully enclosed).
Entertainment includes board games, puzzles, guidebooks, and magazines. Essentials such as towels, shampoo, and body wash are provided.
