Nearest rail station is Hereford, buses on the Hereford/Brecon route pass the entrance with a request stop. However it is best accessed by car. We offer a free EV charger for guests use.
Direct access from the B4348 is immediately beside a stone barn. Continue into the farmyard and The Old Beast House is on your right.

Located in Herefordshire’s beautiful Golden Valley on a non-working farm, this detached, single-storey barn conversion is situated just outside the charming village of Dorstone, off the B4348, giving easy access to the many attractions locally. It is just 7 miles from the border town of Hay-on-Wye, famous for its Literary Festival and known as the book capital of the world, with its quirky shops, galleries, Coop supermarket, pubs and restaurants. The cathedral city of Hereford is within easy driving distance. Village shop 2½ miles, pub serving food ½ mile.
Explore the unspoilt countryside of Herefordshire and the Welsh Borders with many black and white villages, churches, footpaths and mountains. Enjoy wonderful walks with stunning scenery in the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains. Outdoor activities in abundance are available locally, such as canoeing, rock climbing, cycling and pony trekking. Fishing permits are available on the River Wye just 2 miles away.

Formerly a cow shed, pig sty and goose house, The Old Beast House is arranged all on one level. The living space is open plan with exposed beams, and comprises kitchen, dining and seating areas with doors to the patio.
Sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms: 1 king size double with patio doors and en-suite shower room with toilet, 1 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

An Urban Cedar hot tub is installed on the private and secluded rear patio. Relax in the warm water watching the sun go down, or enjoy our minimal light pollution on a clear night by gazing at the stars from the comfort of the hot tub.
