How to get there:
Road – use postcode YO11 1XE – we are centrally based on the edge of Scarborough old town, a few minutes walk into the centre of the town.
Rail – Scarborough railway station is a 10-minute walk with trains direct from York, Manchester and connecting stations.
Buses – Being in the centre of the town we are served by buses with easy access from York, Whitby, Bridlington and further afield. There are bus stops within a few feet from the house going into/out of town.
Flights – Leeds and Teesside are the nearest airports.
Local Area
We are centrally based in Scarborough with facilities within a few minutes walk. Traditional seaside fish and chip shops surround us, plus the usual town centre restaurants all within walking distance.
We have Tesco Local and many mini-supermarkets a few minutes walk. M&S is a short walk into the town centre. Larger supermarkets are a 10-minute walk or a few minutes drive.
Scarborough town centre is a short walk with its many cafes, restaurants, shops and facilities. Local bars, pubs and theatres are at your doorstep too.
Scarborough’s North Bay is a few minutes walk offering all year round beach walking with South Bay a 10 minute walk with its traditional seaside attractions, restaurants, beaches and more.
Within a short walk you can reach the famous Scarborough Spa, the Open Air Theatre, Peasholm Park, Stephen Joseph Theatre and much more. Scarborough Castle is just up the hill from our home.
Surrounding Scarborough, you can easily access the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, Whitby is a short drive as are Filey, Bridlington and York.
Facilities
76 Castle Road is a four bedroomed, two shower terraced Georgian house with modern facilities in the busy centre of Scarborough. We have three double bedrooms plus one single room, accommodating up to 7 people.
On the ground floor we have living room, dining room, kitchen, toilet and shower room. A baby bath is available on request.
On the first floor we have a main double bedroom, a single room and a toilet. The top floor has two double bedrooms and a shower and toilet room.
Our old home has many traditional features with modern new facilities.
Garden – a small courtyard garden is available to enjoy in the summer months.
Kitchen – the small compact kitchen has everything you need for a short stay, including a washing machine, microwave, oven and air fryer. You can cater at home or bring in food from many of the local restaurants nearby. An iron and board are available to use.
Bedding and towels – will be supplied and all beds will be made in advance of your arrival.
Car Parking – there are many local on-street parking bays and off-street car parks in the area. There is an additional fee for these paid via the parking machines or via an app. Blue Badge holders can park for free in parking bays on the streets (not resident bays or car parks).
TV/Wifi – there is Freeview channels, Netflix, Disney+ & Paramount all free. Fibre optic WiFi is included.
Access – steps lead into the main entrance from the street via a small private front garden. The traditional house has three levels with many stairs.
Dogs – you are welcome to bring your well-behaved dogs, please let us know in advance

Costs
Autum & winter – £100 per night
Summer – £110 per night
For parties bigger than 4 we will charge an additional £5 per person per night
10% discount is offered to clergy and paid church staff.
Energy Provision:
All reasonable bills are included but a fair use policy means if excessive energy is used we reserve the right to charge for this.
Availability
Castle Road is our home so not available all year round, please get in touch for availability.
Pets: Well-behaved humans and dogs are welcome. Sadly, an allergy means we can’t allow cats.
Arrival and Departure times:
Arrival – anytime after 3pm on day of arrival
Departure – before 11am on day of departure
